Regional Committees
Where we started...
This group started as a passion project for a trainee who was desperate to talk to likeminded legal professionals but was struggling to make those connections in person. She wanted a place where the social connections came first, and the peer-to-peer learning happened naturally.

We now have monthly meetings in both Manchester and London, with regular attendees and favourite haunts. With so much achieved in 2023, we feel the only way is up!
We are proud of the network we have created so far, and believe that now is the time to expand and bring members who wish to be more involved into the fold. This feels like a natural step to increase our reach, and get ideas for events from a wider range of professionals.

We are looking to set up regional committees of between 3-5 members each. We hope that this way at least one of the committee members will be able to attend every event, to explain to newcomers how these work and to be the point of contact for the venue.

What will you get out of the Committee?
Being part of the Committee means you can help shape what direction your group will go. From finding the right venue, to chatting to potential collaborators and sponsors, not only will it be a great opportunity for you to expand your own network, but by being part of the Committee you can enhance the existing network within GCLG.

GCLG can also provide you with the support to arrange sponsored events, seminars, or members-only ticketed events that align with your green values and can be organised knowing that likeminded individuals will be there.
Each region's Committee can be as ambitious as they'd like in setting up new events. To maintain member involvement, with our support we would look for the Committee to be putting on one event a month.
This would mean:

Locating and booking a venue that aligns with GCLG's values;

Creating an event on LinkedIn, Eventbrite etc;

Inviting members to the events;

Sharing and promoting your event on social media;

Attending the events & initiating discussion with new and prospective members about GCLG matters.​
